On a day fit for February and a parking lot full beyond its modest plowing, we began the 2011 Roxbury Race Series with a traditional run up Chalbes. Congratulations to Noah Rossiter who finished the 2.4 miles first in 14:17 and Theresa Krebs, first woman, in 17:31, and to everyone who braved the snow, wind, and cold to run.

Notably absent were Jeff, Mark, Brian, Nora, Cynthia, and LeeAnne. Notably present were the entire Scanell Clan, Cindy, Mike, Chris and Peter. "We were on the fence until I got a call from Nora insisting that everyone would be here and I couldn't possibly miss it," said Cindy. "This is my one race for the year," said Mike, noting that he prefers to get his race "over with" as early in the year as possible. Which makes us wonder where he was on New Years Day, since it wasn't Brookfield. Also notably present were Steve, Dan and Lynnie, all of whom said, "I was on the fence until I got a call from Nora insisting that everyone would be here and I couldn't possibly miss it." Nora, where were you?

Also notable, Chris and Tom returned to Roxbury after a year of, allegedly, racing. Now they're back to have fun. Suspicion is that Chris has actually been perfecting his roundhouse kick, so watch out for him. The Masochist sisters are back with their compatriot, Emily. As is Erik claiming that he's not injured...yet.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week for the 2.4 mile run down Chalybes. See you at 8:30 next Saturday!
