Race Report by Mary Schafer

On a beautiful day in Roxbury, we ran our first South Street of the year, down then back up with a loop around High Bridge for an exciting 4.3 miles. Desmond O'Grady won first place with a time of 24:11. On the women's side Theresa Krebs took first place and 15th overall in 30:52.

Yet another But(ler)less Saturday in Roxubry. Welcome back to Joe who returned to Roxbury for his first race of 2010. Also welcome back to Dan, who ran for breakfast. For those of you who think chivalry is dead it is clearly because you spend too much time running near John Murphy Jr. Run with Charlie, the gentleman, instead. Jeff ran his last Roxbury race as a 29 year old this weekend. We direct Jeff to the sage advice given last week by Steve regarding age groups.

Get well soon to Cindy who did her best slingshot impersonation and launchied over her handlebars last weekend. Cindy, however, notes that she "has no time for injuries" and raced a wet and wild Leatherman's Loop in a mere 1:09:16. Go Cindy!

Congratulations to all our Roxburian Boston finishers, in no particular order:
Jeanne Bartkus 27219 (place: 17729, time: 4:14:40)
Charles F. Rocca PhD 6556 (place: 4189, time: 3:18:07)
Douglas Lee 6037 (place: 9755, time: 3:38:58)
Pat Dennen 1701 (place: 374, time: 2:46:24)
Alan Peck 3950 (place: 2330, time: 3:08:04)
Peter Lofink 4193 (place: 1350, time: 3:00:00)
Bruce Goulart 15330 (place: 19436, time: 4:29:32)
Deborah Lemien 19769 (place: 12161, time: 3:47:42)
Michael Ruospo 8937 (place: 4018, time: 3:17:15)

Next weekend we race the Larry Kershner Mid-Spring Challenge. Remember, you will pay $5 for the privilege and pleasure (or lack thereof) of tackling the 4.3 miles, but High Bridge in reverse. See you Saturday!
